Oilfield decanter centrifuge is the 4th phase solids control equipment in oilfield solids control system. Oilfield drilling mud decanter centrifuge is usually used after mud cleaner or desilter to separate 2-7 μm solid out of drilling mud. It is very important to whole solids control system.

KOSUN LW series decanter centrifuge is used to separate suspended solids with diameter ≥2μm and to treat the drilling mud and fluids.

To meet the requirements of the development of modern drilling engineering, KOSUN developed and is equipped with the explosion-proof variable frequency solids control system which could adjust separation factor and drum rotational speed. By this new technology, make the centrifuge to adapt property changing of mud during the operation process, that make the treatment more effective and perfect.A VFD (Variable Frequency Drive ) module monitors and controls both the main and back electric drives. The operator can manage bowl and scroll speeds via a touchscreen that also displays stats from the various sensors, including temperature, current, rotational speed and vibration.

Taking advantage of the principle that the light liquid, heavy liquid and solid phase, with different density and mutually insoluble in the mixed liquid, gain different sedimentation speed in the centrifugal force field or gravity force field, separating stratification or causing the solid particles in the liquid to deposit can be achieved. In the gravity force field or centrifugal force field, the light liquid phase, the heavy liquid phase and the solid phase with different density and mutually insoluble in the mixed liquid, respectively gain different sedimentation speed, and thus separate and stratify. In the gravity force field it is called gravity separation, while in the centrifugal force field it is called centrifugal separation.

Oilfield decanter centrifuge in oilfield solids control system used as the fouth stage solids control equipment , which separates the drilling cutting with diameter between 2~15 microns Normally oilfield solid control system is consist shale shaker, desander, desilter, decanter centrifuge. Shale shaker is used to separate the big solids with diameter above 75μm, and 45~74μm for desander, and 15~44μm for desilter. All oilfield solids control equipments are mounted on the top of the mud tank.
